It’s likely that Google will rely more upon content that it finds on the page rather than a meta description.

My concern is that someone might be less likely, rather than more likely, to follow a link that accompanies an expanded snippet in the search results unless that expanded snippet hints that there’s more information upon the page that a search might be interested in seeing.

I’ve seen a few mentions of this post and patent application in a couple of other locations, like webpronews.

I am surprised that so little has be mentioned about this on the blogs. Usually Google patent apps get more attention.
